Additional Information
Make a bold statement with this dramatic ring made of fine-silver metal clay, perfect for lampworkers or anyone else who loves beads. Students will make a ring of their own design, including a screw closure, and silver accent discs. The embedded screw mechanism makes it possible to change the beads as often as you’d like.
Students will Learn:
Learn basic ring construction, and understand how to calculate the shrinkage rate of metal clay. Students will discover how to firmly embed metal hardware in their rings; learn how to make accent discs of many designs; and design an individually decorated screw closure to hold the ring together.
Familiarity with metal clay is helpful but not required.

Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Plastic hammer, tweezers, an assortment of beads with a 2.5 mm hole, wooden or metal ring mandrel.
Materials in Kit:
20 g fine-silver metal clay, two pots of metal clay paste, polishing kit, hardware, use of tools and materials in class.
One seat per person per class.
