Description:
Learn the basics of etching in this beginner class. Nothing fancy here, everyone can do it! Students will make negative and positive copy for etching and heat transfer it to metal, etch metal, finish and patina metal, and learn fabrication/bracelet forming techniques. Students will have a wide variety of copy to choose from to personalize each project with words, numbers, or sentiments.
Students will Learn:
Learn the ins-and-outs of the easiest etching for everyone; make positive and negative copy in the most economical way possible; how to heat transfer copy to metal; etching conditions and safety; how to file metal, surface finish, and patina.
Project completion:
Project will be completed in class
Minimum Age Requirement:
At least 16 years old.
Supplies to Bring:
Mandrels. Optional: If you own a bracelet mandrel please bring it.
Materials in Kit:
18-gauge copper, copy to share in class, etchant to share.
Limit:
One seat per person per class.
